Exotic Flowers

The Earth is blessed with different kinds of flowers that add beauty to this planet. There are some flowers that are commonly seen in your garden, while others are very rare to find. There have been florists and foresters who have found flowers in some isolated places that are not known to the world. These flowers are called exotic or unusual flowers.

These are exotic because, as the name implies, they are rare or are seen and discovered in different places. These exotic flowers add more beauty to your garden, your home and even to all your memorable occasions like birthdays, thanksgiving and anniversary celebrations. Furthermore, you can also use these exotic flowers during banquets, weddings and solemn occasions like funerals.

Among the adorable exotic flowers are the Dutch Amaryllis, Anthurium, Birds of Paradise, Calla Lilly, Ecuadorian Roses, Gardenias, Lilacs, Lily of the Valley and miniature calla lily.

Dutch amaryllis is scientifically known as Amaryllis or Hippeastrum. It is one of the bulbous flowers that usually come in red, pink, orange and white colors. They also come in bi-color appearance.

Anthuriums are among the rigid types of flowers. It has a thick and waxy texture and appearance. Actually, the anthurium flower is the spathe; and in the middle of it is an organ known as the spadix. This flower will actually develop on the spadix. The color of anthurium flowers ranges from reds, pinks and whites.

Birds of Paradise are scientifically known as Stelitzia reginae. The name is derived from its spectacular shape. It resembles the beak of the bird and the head of a plumage.

Equadorian roses are an exotic type of rose that comes in different colors. This is very suitable to use as wedding flowers.

Calla Lily is scientifically known as Zantedeschia. It is a flower spathe that has a large and flaring trumpet-shaped bract that surrounds the spadix. The spadix of this flower is covered with small flowers.

Lilacs are one of the most beautiful and exotic flowers. They are purple in color and are clustered. They are very pleasing to the eyes and nose for its beauty and fragrance.

Gardenias are scientifically known as Gardenia jasminoides. This kind of flower has a waxy texture and is white in color. In addition to that, gardenias are very appealing to your olfactory nerves because of its fragrance. You can see this flower in either single or double arrangement.

Miniature Calla Lillies are one of the Southern and Eastern African native flowers. These flowers have a funnel shape and a colored spathe, which encloses a yellow-colored finger-like spadix.
